Hosted International Fly Fishing Trips with an Experienced Outfitter

Unforgettable Adventures with Agee Outfitting

Let my 30 years of guiding fly fishermen help you when considering booking an international fly fishing trip. My journey into the world of travel fly fishing began in 1998 when I accepted my first guide position at the Rio Palena Lodge in Chilean Patagonia.

Navigating travel to Palena, Chile, was challenging, with language barriers, time changes, different customs, and a variety of other issues. With a bit of luck and patience, we managed.

Today, with the rise of fly fishing-specific booking companies like Yellow Dog Travel, Fly Water Travel, Red’s Fly Shop, and Far Bank, international fly fishing is more accessible than ever. However, experience still matters. Besides multiple seasons of guiding in Chile and Argentina, I’ve experienced many other fantastic international saltwater and freshwater destinations:

New Zealand, Argentina, Chile, Alaska, Canada

Florida Keys, Bahamas, Belize, Honduras, Mexico, Cuba, Hawaii, Christmas Island

What is a Host?

A host is a liaison between guests and the outfitting destination, acting as the lead angler to ensure everyone has a great time. Groups operate best when a friendly leader with an interest in your success is at the helm. The host collaborates with the lodge manager to oversee guide pairings and angler rotations and is authorized to make decisions on behalf of the entire group.

When necessary, the host may mix up guide rotations, change angler pairings, and provide solutions if guests feel the adventure isn’t up to snuff. We just ask you to keep your expectations in check, consider the group as a whole, and be realistic with any special requests.
